9 month appointment

Jack had his 9 month checkup today with Dr. Volinsky. He weighed in at a whopping 24lbs 15oz (or one bite away from 25lbs according to Dr. V) and is 32 inches long. His head circumference escapes me at the moment, but I just remember that it's "large, but proportionate with his height." His height was off the chart (with his noggin) and his weight is still hovering around the 95th percentile.

We didn't really talk about much at this appt. He checked to be sure that Jack's rolling and crawling (yes) and being social (double yes). I, of course, joked that I think he's autistic because he doesn't like to read books anymore. Dr. V said he absolutely isn't, and that he's far too alert and sociable for that diagnosis. Phew! But, he did say to keep trying to read to him every day to get him back in the swing of it.

Oh, and that little incident where he ate a bunch of cheese at Kerri's house and then had the poops all the next day? Yeah, Dr V says to introduce SMALL amounts of new foods and to probably stick with yogurt rather than delving too much into cheese for a while. Oops.

He told us that Jack can eat pretty much everything except honey, nuts, and whole milk at this point. He even told us he can have donuts, which is a joking reference to us seeing Dr. V at Christy's in Creekside having a donut with his youngest son (also named Jack) early one Saturday morning. We were impressed that he remembered! At the time, he told us "we don't eat like this every weekend" and we got a good laugh out of him being embarrassed that we caught him giving his 4 year old a donut.

Overall, Jack is awesome and healthy and we couldn't be more pleased!
