Voltron Makes Him Laugh
And obsess, actually. The kid, as I've mentioned before, loves all things Voltron. He can now recite (mostly intelligibly) the entire intro to the Voltron cartoon. For those of you who don't know what the intro is, see below.
He also knows how the characters actually FORM Voltron, which involves some Infracells and Megathrusters and the forming of feet and legs, etc. During a portion of the "forming" sequence, the Captain calls out the command, "Form arms and body!" That's what he said for all of the episodes in Season 1. Well, since Grandma got him the Red Lion DVDs, we're into Season 2. In Season 2, Captain Keith decides to shake it up a bit and instead says, "Form arms and torso!"
Jack thinks this is the funniest thing ever.
Whenever Keith makes this command of the crew, Jack lets out peals of laughter and says, between cackles, "He said TORSO!" as if it's the silliest thing he's ever heard. He now knows what a torso is, and that it's the same as saying "form arms and body" but he thinks it's funny just the same.
Every. Single. Time.
Now, for the intro sequence the he loves so well (I'm typing from memory):
From days of long ago,
From uncharted regions of the universe,
Comes a legend;
The legend of Voltron,
A mighty robot,
Loved by good,
Feared by evil.
As Voltron's legend grew,
Peace settled across the galaxy.
On planet Earth,
A Galaxy Alliance was formed-
Together with the good planets of the solar system,
They maintained peace throughout the universe-
Until, a new horrible menace threatened the galaxy.
Voltron was needed once more.
This is the story of the super force
Of space explorers,
Specially trained and sent by the Alliance
To bring back
Voltron, Defender of the Universe!
