Doctor's Visit
Jack had his 15 month appointment (at 16 months!) today. Nothing out of the ordinary to report. Dr. V was impressed with his words (Jack was proclaiming loudly that "Elmo" was on his shoe) and laughed at what a little talker he is. He asked how he was sleeping and I thought there was some sort of 16 month old conspiracy but he assured me that it's just a question he asks. I told him that Jack has been waking up earlier (4:50am!) for a week or so and that we were none too pleased. He said that we couldn't really do much about it other than tinker with his naps and bedtime, so I figure we'll just keep our fingers crossed for the day he decides to sleep in until 7am.
Jack grew half an inch since December and now is 34 and 1/4 inches long. He also grew about a pound, weighing in at 28lbs 10.5 oz. The ladies at daycare nearly called me a liar because they were SURE he weighed more than that. Me too, ladies, me too.
Jack is still getting his first molar in (it has broken through the sides, but not the middle) and has a second that is clearly lurking under the gum. He has a bit of a runny nose right now, but we all do so it's nothing that spectacular.
Dr. V gave us the big thumbs up, didn't chastize me at all because Jack still takes two bottles a day, and told me to call him if we needed anything. His nurse, Mary came in and gave Jack the last of his vaccines until kindergarten. He cried for about 8 seconds and then calmed down, pulled the band-aid off his leg and proceded to try to stick it back on himself and me. Mary told me that she hates it when parents spread the vaccines out and delay them so long that she's vaccinating 3 year old for what a 1 year old should get. She said the 3 year olds cry much harder, are more traumatized, and remember so they never want to come back! I'm glad we went ahead on schedule, too. The sooner we get this over with, the better. And now he's done for another 4 years. We'll find other, less pokey, ways to torment him in the meantime.

Great report! We have an earlybird on our hands as well. Grrrrr.
I am happy to hear your ped is okay with two bottles a day. Ours is a bit old school on this issues and wnats no bottles asap. I think we will just continue with the morning and evening bottle routine for a while and keep it our little secret.
Wow -- I just can't get over how tall Jack is!
