Jack's Birthday Party (a little late)
Saturday, the 5th, we had a birthday party for Jack. My parents and Kyle's mom and husband came up from North Carolina. We also had the whole Pepin clan, the Hobbs', Clay, and the Bowman girls over. It was a success! As always, I bought way too much food. I should have known when my Costco cart was full that we'd have a lot of leftovers. I bought a veggie tray, antipasto tray (yum!), croissant sandwiches with ham and roast beef, a shrimp platter, and various dips. We got a cake from Sweet Tooth filled with raspberry gel and with a cute dinosaur on top!

Jack really didn't know what to do with the little mini-cake from the bakery. He's used to us tearing his food into small pieces, so when we put the huge cake on his high-chair tray, he just stared at it. Here he is asking what to do with it:

So, Kyle broke it up for him and he got the hint. He decided it was very yummy:

He got a ton of presents from everyone, but decided that the most exciting thing was a greeting card. He carried it around all evening. Since he had no interest in opening gifts, his little helpers, Ellie and Grant, did it for him. At one point Grant shoved Jack off of the Weebles box he was sitting on, so Tom had to drag him by the arm from the living room. It was quite amusing and Jack wasn't phased in the least. Some of the mayhem:

After all of the festivities, Jack sacked out for a long night of sleep. The next morning he was up and ready to play with all of his new stuff. Overall, it was a great day!
