Jack's good mood
Over the last few weeks and months, Jack has gotten a little more fussy than that sweet angel that we used to know. We figure it's separation anxiety mixed with frustration at all of the things that he can't quite do yet. So, when he has super-happy-fuss-free days, they are memorable. Today was one of them.
Yesterday he slept for 2 hours and 45 minutes at daycare and slept for a while longer when he got home. He went to bed around 8:30 and didn't make a single peep during the night. The first we heard from him was the chirp from his Angel Care Monitor at 4:00 in the morning. It COMPLETELY freaked me out, as the monitor is only supposed to go off when he hasn't moved for 20 seconds. Well, when Kyle and I went in, he had scooted himself all the way to one end of his crib and was laying on his side with his back against the crib rails. Obviously the monitor couldn't sense him. He didn't wake up when we went in, but woke up a few minutes later, probably because of all of the lights and noise. He went back to sleep until 6:00, and when he woke up he was in a fantastic mood.
He took a shower with me, and hung out with Kyle and played until it was time to go to school. He had a good day at daycare: mixed veggies for breakfast, garden veggies from Miss Lara for lunch (1.5 jars!), time outside and tummy time. He smelled of sun block and happiness when we picked him up. He hadn't napped much, so he did fall asleep on the way home and slept for an hour. When he woke up we all went to The Cracker Barrel for dinner. He had some sweet potatoes and apples and some peas for dinner. He was pleasant, played with some toys, flirted with some ladies, and in a good mood. We took him out on the deck when we got home and he smiled at the neighbors dog and laughed at Kyle. He went to bed around 8:00, and overall it was a great day!
Hoping days like this are in large supply in the future.
