The Adventures of Jack Jack

This is our boy. And this is our blog. Welcome to the adventure.

Jack's first wedding!

Sure, we've taken Jack all over the place with us, but I don't really think he's been to a big social function yet. Well, yesterday our friend Rick married his girlfriend, Jessica. (According to Kyle, Rick said it would be a small wedding- the last head count registered at 150 people!)

So, we dressed Jack in a Polo style onesie, some khaki pants, socks, and the cutest little brown Weebocks with velcro closures I've ever seen. They were a size 5 and probably too big, but no one could tell.

Here are a few pictures of us getting ready to leave. Note that his hair is a mess. We have given up.

Seriously, how cute are those shoes?

The ceremony was very nice and in a church very close to where we live. It was hilarious to see all of the kids dressed up and I am now convinced that girls' dress clothes are so much cuter than boys'. Kyle did have to take Jack out of the ceremony once, but not for crying- just because he really had a lot to say! He came back in just in time to hear the officiant ask Jessica:

"Jessica, will you take Rick to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Of course, she turned and obviously gave him a priceless look. After about a minute of laughter from all of us, complete with Rick's face being bright red, he started her vows over.

The reception was held at the Eagles Club. We walked in the back door first, and were met with a dimly lit, very smoky bar. I assessed it and decided we would be staying at the reception for about 8.7 seconds. Luckily, the bartender told us that we were in the wrong place. The actual reception area was very nice an ddecorated with fake greenery, purple candles, and Hersheys candy with tags that proclaimed "Hugs and Kisses from the new Mr. and Mrs." Obviously a Jessica creation. Rick will not live that, nor being Jessica's lawfully wedded wife, down at work for some time.

Jack was good at the reception. He just hung out with us while we drank, got food, and talked. He got a little squirmy and was obviously tired, so we brought out a bottle and fed him. A couple next to us with a 1 year old asked if he held his bottle, to which we replied No. They were talking about their son and how he won't hold them and won't even drink juice in one. The husband said something about not even drinking from bottles for very long. I was intrigued, thinking the kid must have gone straight to a sippy cup and asked how they avoided bottles. In the middle of asking I pretty much smacked myself on the forehead and said "oh, because you breastfeed!" Duh. They were very cool about it and didn't look at me like I had 3 heads at all.

Jack fell asleep after his bottle fix, seen here.

We decided to head home since he really needed a good nap. Luckily, an old co-worker of Kyle's decided that she must poke and prod the sleeping baby until he wakes up. Kyle was physically turning Jack away from her, but she obviously didn't get it. So, no nap for Jack. Instead he went to bed at 7pm and stayed there until 5am (though he did eat at 2am).

1.) Jack's outfit -- too adorable. Love the shoes.

2.) I can't get over his hair. Oh, I love those curls on top of his head.

3.) Jack is so tall. In the pic with Vienna holding him, he looks like he is at least two years old.
