Daycare Updates
At Jack's old daycare, we got detailed notes that let me know exactly how long he napped, what he ate and at what time, and at what times he had a diaper change (and what was in the diaper) but I never had an idea of how his day went. At his new daycare, it's just the opposite. I know that he sleeps for approximately 2 hours a day (the choices are 2, 1.5, 1, and .5) and presume he gets changed (though this isn't noted anywhere). However, I know all about his day and what he enjoyed and his disposition (from Happy to Needed Extra Attention to Quieter than usual, to Tired, and so on). It's been really great reading the updates and I would like to share some of them with you. All days have a Disposition of Cheerful/Happy unless otherwise noted. Most days have at least one smiley face as well.
8/10- "Jack loved making monkey bread! He loved eating it more! We all made monkey noises and danced like monkeys."
8/14- "Great morning! Jack was very busy today! He had a great time playing outside! Inside, Jack made a panda bear. Jack had no problem showing me his nose, eyes, and ears- just like the Pandas!"
8/18- "We had a very lazy morning. It was just Jack and I (Wilma) until 9am when Noah came. We 3 had a great morning! We danced and played with blocks, took walks, and had a lot of cuddle time!" The slip also shows that he liked the chicken pattie at lunch and chose a Thomas video to watch for their Movie Friday.
8/22- "Today Ms. Libby came for music. Jack had a great time. He was a little shy at first but soon joined in. We sand with the scarves, instruments, and played a "gathering drum." It was great! We played outside and Jack painted a palm tree."
8/24- "Today we made "beach surprise." Jack helped stir the jello, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and a few mini marshmallows. Yummy!" It also says on the lunch section: "Jack LOVED the chicken nuggets!"
8/28- Disposition: "Jack had a rough morning at times. He only seemed interested in the toys other people had, and he seemed easily upset. I just wanted to let you know." Notes: "Jack loved making hand prints today. He was so excited! I painted one hand blue and one red. Tomorrow the feet! Jack laughed out loud when I painted the left hand but not the right!"
8/30- Disposition: "Jack had a rough morning. He tried to bite twice but we caught him just in time. At the lunch table Jack but his own arm several times." (This note prompted us to think he was teething, which we think he definitely was.) Notes: "Today we had fun with Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes! We sang the song fast and slow. Jack was very good at keeping up with us!"
8/31- "Jack made finger sandwiches today. we ahve had a good week learning our body parts. Jack knows them ALL!"
9/1- "We had a great inside day! We danced and had circle time, Jack named all the colors correctly! We got out our special blocks and stacked them. We had fun with our music mat, too. Have a good weekend- stay dry!"
9/5- "Today Jack used a feather to paint. He did a great job! He giggled when we tickled him with the feather. We blew bubbles and danced too!"
9/12- "After the rain yesterday we decided to play extra long out front. At circle time we are learning some bird rhymes and colors. Of course Jack does super on the colors!"
