Baby's First Hair Cut

Well, the momentous occasion has come. After several months of looking lovingly (and sometimes exasperatedly) at Jacks wild curls, we decided to get his locks cut. We took him to Mane Attraction where I usually get my hair cut. We had an appointment with Jen, who I believe is the same woman who did my hair for Clay and Heather's wedding. Jack was the cutest (and youngest) boy in the place. She put a booster seat in the chair and went and got a cute little child-sized smock. Jack was very happy sitting in the chair and looking at all of the women.

Here he is waiting for his first haircut

Getting the smock on (check out that hippie hair!)

So, the haircut began. She sprayed his hair with a bottle and he liked that immensely. She used scissors to start cutting his curls, tackling the top first. After that, he started to get a little antsy and annoyed that she was messing with his hair. I had to hold him in the seat so she could still cut his hair. He played with my sunglasses for a while and it at least distracted him. At one point, he decided to lay down since that seemed like a much better option. He started to cry when we made him put his head down, as the boy is headstrong and doesn't like anyone telling him what to do.

The Action Shots:

We managed to scavenge a "lock" of sorts from the smock and saved it in a small envelope. Afterwards we all went to the Daily Grind for some coffee. The end results were fantastic:

A little whipped cream on his face:

And, yes, those are Route 11 potato chips behind us. (Sweet potato and mixed veggie are the best.)

OMG -- Way too cute. I love the little curls that remain on top.
